Torquay is a town in Torbay, Devon, well-known for its warm climate, palm trees, beaches and for having the prestigious title of ‘The English Riviera’. Torquay lies south of Exeter and north-east of Plymouth and is neighbours with the town of Paignton that itself is neighbours with Brixham further around the coast of Torbay. Torbay consists of the three towns Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.
Torquay is perhaps best known for its beaches and for the palm trees dotted around the town and that particularly line the seafront. Popular beaches include: Babbacombe beach, MeadFoot beach and Torre Abbey Sands.
Due to its superb climate and position, Torquay benefits from lovely flats and apartments for sale, right through to residential houses, holiday homes and country homes in the countryside which is never more than a short drive away.
