Graduating with a degree in Estate Management from the University of Reading Alan commenced his professional career in Chesterfield with the District Valuer/Valuation Officer during October 1971 before defecting to W. D. Botham & Sons next door during the early 1980s.

Alan has been the Senior Partner for the last twenty years overseeing the merger of W. D. Botham & Sons with Mitchell and Slaney coinciding with the Millennium.

With a wide experience of the valuation, marketing and sale of residential and commercial property, he is one of the most experienced and possibly longest serving chartered surveyors in Chesterfield and North Derbyshire dealing with a wide variety of property over the years, experience literally from A – Z, with the valuation of abattoirs to zoos.

Alan has been providing estate agency and professional property valuation and marketing services over many years including valuations for compulsory purchase, taxation, rating, matrimonial, pension fund and lending purposes.

Enjoying over the years caravan holidays, family and friends, boating on inland waterways and at sea, based in Poole harbour the second largest natural harbour in the world.
