I've been an estate agent all my working life, beginning in 2001, so I've now been in the property industry for more than two decades!

I started in a corporate agency and, after a year there, Laura joined the team. We worked alongside each other for six years, sharing a very similar work ethic from the word go which cemented a solid working relationship.  Although we are very different people, we have the same attitude towards professionalism, integrity and honesty – the foundation qualities on which we built Humphrey & Brand. We also have a similar sense of humour: absolutely essential given how much time we spend together.

When I began thinking of having my own business, Laura was an essential part of it. I had no doubt that we would make perfect business partners because we've always been able to count on each other, and we bring out the best in each other.  I knew that the two of us working together could create a special estate agent in Surbiton, with a fantastic reputation for exceeding clients' expectations and delivering fantastic customer service.

Every homeowner – whether a seller or a landlord – should have complete confidence in their estate agent and feel they made the right choice. Our vision was for Humphrey & Brand to offer unbeatable service levels and become the most successful, respected and highly regarded estate agent in Surbiton. The fact that so many of our early clients are still clients today is a result of that dedication.

One of the best measures of that success research is the number of reviews a business receives – they give a really clear picture of the service and results a potential client can expect from an estate agent before they even meet them. So having hundreds of five-star reviews on Google gives our future clients comfort and is something we are not only both really proud of, but also extremely grateful to our clients and customers for leaving.

Like Laura, I live in Surbiton.  I love that we have plenty of green space to spend time in, with Richmond Park and Bushy Park among my favourites. Some fantastic local schools make family life extremely good, while the fast trains into London make it really easy for commuting, shopping and going out – it's a combination that's hard to beat. We are so lucky to have the Thames on our doorstep, and walking along the river to Kingston is an absolute pleasure. And, of course, dinner at The French Table on Maple Road: for me, the best local restaurant.
