James Joubert

James has experience working in both private practice, in South Africa, and the public sector, in the United Kingdom. His time in the UK has involved working in development management and spatial planning and, before relocating, he studied at the University of Pretoria, South Africa graduating with a distinction in planning. 

Before joining Stags, James worked in local government, in South Devon, where he gained an understanding of the UK planning system and, before making the move to spatial planning, he was involved in determining planning applications and assisted in the development of the authority’s Local Plan. 

James hopes to gain his Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute in the near future and, outside of work, enjoys technology, history, travel and walks in nature.
