About Twickenham

Twickenham is famous for being the home of English Rugby and more locally in the Stoop Stadium the Harlequins RFC.

Located just 10 miles southwest of Central London, Twickenham is an incredibly popular residential location for buyers and tenants. Twickenham offers a great selection of schools, shops and amenities and provides a great lifestyle for its residents.

Twickenham has a number of great restaurants and bars and its proximity to Kingston, Richmond and London mean that there are endless options for shopping, eating and nights out. You will find all of the local high street chains as well as smaller boutiques and pubs dotted along the bank of the River Thames.

Twickenham is the home of English Rugby and during rugby season this area is very popular with tourists and fans. Other popular tourist attractions in the area include, Strawberry Hill House and private boat tours of the River Thames.

If you fancy a relaxing day out, Twickenham has easy access to both Richmond Park and Bushy Park where you can stroll and take in the scenery. Richmond Park was created by Charles I as a deer park in the 17th Century; it is now recognised for its importance in wildlife conservation. Bushy Park is home to the Diana Fountain, often regarded as one of the most important sculptures in Britain.

The River Thames runs through the centre of town and provides access to sports such as rowing. There are also many impressive locations which you can visit on a day out such as Orleans House, Marble Hill Park and Randor Gardens. Twickenham also is renowned for Eel Pie Island, a major Jazz and Blues venue in the 1960's. The Mary Wallace Theatre is Twickenham's local theatre but Richmond Theatre and London's West End are all within commutable distance for you to enjoy a night of theatrics or comedy.

For those travelling via train, Twickenham train station is located in Travelcard Zone 5 and provides a direct service to London Waterloo with a journey time of approximately 20 minutes. From London Waterloo you can access connecting overground, underground and Thameslink services.

For road users, the A316 is easily accessible from Twickenham and from here you can access the M25 and the M3 either into or out of London. There is also a frequent bus service also operates providing easy access to Richmond (where you can pick up the District Line), Kingston and beyond.
