ICF homes are considered high-performing due to their higher thermal resistance and thermal mass, and the performance far exceeds requirements under current UK building regulations. Ward Burgess will also be using an amazing development in cement production, Cemex’s Vertua - the UK’s first ready mix Low Carbon Concrete launched this year.
The buildings will still require some heating during the winter, for which we will be installing Mitsubishi Ecodan Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) - a low carbon heat pump system which transfers around three to four times more energy into a property as heat then it uses to extract it. As a result, heat pumps are incredibly efficient.
