Taunton is the largest town in the county of Somerset with a population of around 62,000. Geographically it is located around 11 miles from Bridgwater, and 17 miles off the west coastline where the Mouth of the Severn begins. The Exmoor National Park is also close, being 10 or so miles north west.
Today, Taunton is home to Somerset County Cricket Club, 40 Commando Royal Marines, as well as the UK Hydrographic Office, which is a Ministry of Defence organisation responsible for providing navigational and hydrographic (the measurement of depths, tides and currents of a body of water) information for national, civil and armed force purposes. Taunton is now home to a number of retail parks including Riverside Retail Park. The town centre is also a popular destination for more local shops and tends to have a good amount of hustle and bustle going on. Taunton is also well-known for the cider that’s produced in the area.
Being the biggest town in Somerset, Taunton is home to a whole wealth of town houses, semi-detached, detached and terraced houses and flats for sale.
