The town of Burnley and surrounding towns and villages has many areas of interest including Townlely Hall which dates back over 500 years and is set withing the outstanding Townley Park that boasts 2 golf courses and lots of nature trails. Sitting high above the town you will find 'The Singing Ringing' Tree which is a wind powered sound sculpture resembling a tree, set in the landscape of the Pennines. In 2007, the sculpture won (along with 13 other candidates) the National Award of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for architectural excellence.
