I can remember the moment when Lisa suggested we go into business together as if it were yesterday, even though it's way back in 2008

  We were colleagues in a corporate estate agency (the place where I began my career in 2002), and we'd always worked exceptionally well together. We'd developed a very strong mutual respect from sharing similar aspirations and values around communication, customer service, teamwork and results.

  I was initially a little apprehensive about setting up a business, but when I thought about it, I realised it could very well be the best thing I could ever do.  And I couldn't ask for a more determined business partner than Lisa. We both felt there was an opening for a truly personalised independent estate agent in Surbiton – one with outstanding marketing, structure and training, but with the flexibility and tailoring of service that simply isn't possible with multiple branches working for a distant head office.

  We're always talking about exceptional experiences and 'going above and beyond' because they're exactly what Humphrey & Brand is about. An estate agent can make a massively positive contribution to people moving home, and seeing the team make that happen on a daily basis makes me very proud of the business we've built together, along with our reputation for honesty, reliability and trustworthiness.

  Surbiton is where I live and is a place I love. As well as a great family life – from schools and walking the dog, to local clubs and groups – we have a busy town centre with plenty of great places to meet and shop, plus peaceful parks and riverside walks. I particularly like the gardens at The Grove and The Victoria pubs.

Getting into London is really easy by train, and getting away by car is also simple with the A3/M25. I can't think of anywhere more perfect than Surbiton, and it's wonderful to have a home and a business here.
