 Adrian Cannon, is the Rural Partner at Tayler & Fletcher Ltd in the North Cotswolds. Undertaking typical rural consultancy and land agent duties he is involved with land sales, valuations, business management & consultancy. He enjoys interacting with his clients giving them good honest straight forward advice. He is well versed in grant funding for farm and estates and understands the history of Defra and the Rural Payments Agency due to his excellent working knowledge being involved with transitioning schemes from IACS to Single Payment Scheme to the Basic Payment scheme and the current agri-environmental schemes from Countryside Stewardship to Environmental Stewardship and back again! Other work includes landlord & tenant matters, compensation work and he runs the largest hay and straw auction in the country. Adrian, from a non agricultural background, gained his knowledge through practical agriculture from Farmworker progressing through to the Farm/Estate manager at Great Tew Estate where he won the Farmers Weekly Farm Manager of the Year in 2006. In 2008 he joined Strutt & Parker at Salisbury as a Farm Consultant and joined Tayler and Fletcher in 2011 soon becoming a Partner. He has a BSc in Agricultural Science from Nottingham University and achieved an MSc in Rural Estate and Land Management from Harper Adams. He is a Fellow of RICS and a qualified Valuer, Fellow of the Central Association of Valuers sitting on the Machinery Costings committee, Fellow Adviser of the Society of Agriculture having been chair and Treasurer of the prior British Institute of Agricultural Consultants. He is an Associate of the Royal Agricultural Society recognised for his contribution to the farming industry. As he likes to keep up to date and learn he recently became a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association using this in undertaking expert witness work. He is an Alumni of the Windsor Leadership course which he found invaluable in his Partner role. He is married to Nicola, Professor of Agricultural at the Royal Agricultural University and has three grown up children, which he enjoys travelling with and walking with throughout the world. In his spare time he runs the Burford and District Farming Club as secretary for over 7years.
