4 bedroom property for sale

Guide price £995,000
3D VIRTUAL VIEWING AVAILABLE. A stylish and contemporary 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom family home in a desirable setting on this unpaved Private Road, with views over The Grove open space near Harrow on the Hill station and set below the medieval church. Completely re-modelled and extended to provide impressive accommodation, the house is ideally configured for both family life and entertaining with unexpected features including the striking low maintenance back garden designed by Chelsea Flower Show award-winning designer Jo Alderson. This extends the living space and is complimented by a large astro-turfed front terrace above the garage.

The house is elevated from the road affording it great privacy and the stand-out feature is undoubtedly the fabulous open-plan luxury fitted kitchen/dining/family room. This has limestone flooring, a range cooker and feature wood-burner, plus a pair of huge domed skylights and bi-folding doors which flood it with natural light and seamlessly extend the living space during warmer months. There is also a generous hallway, bespoke oak staircase, ground floor shower room and character 20ft living room with quality timber flooring and exposed brick feature walls. Upstairs is also bright and airy with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, architect-designed vaulted ceilings and skylights and great views of the Hill and adjacent open space.

The walled rear garden is a true delight and ideal for modern living, being paved with seating areas incorporated plus a designer water feature. To the front is a further large terrace which is raised and astro-turfed and offers additional low maintenance outside space to enjoy.

This best of both worlds location on the Lower Slopes of the Hill combines convenience with exclusivity. A short walk in each direction brings you either up to the historic village centre with its tranquil atmosphere, coffee shops, cocktail bars and restaurants or down to multiple town centre amenities including 2 covered shopping centres, supermarkets and a multi-screen Vue Cinema. Harrow on the Hill Metropolitan/Chiltern Line station is within 2 minutes walk, providing fast and comfortable access to Londons Aldgate & Marylebone stations respectively.

The area is also well known for the high standard of education available with highly rated St Anselms Catholic Primary School at the end of the road plus many other excellent state, church and private schools nearby including Vaughan Primary, Whitmore High School & Sixth Form, John Lyon School for Boys, Orley Farm Preparatory School and the famous Harrow School. These benefits along with excellent road links to the motorway network and access to London airports makes this an uncommonly well-connected place. We highly recommend viewing to fully appreciate this wonderful home which would suit both families and professionals seeking elegant, spacious living accommodation with excellent commuter links.

Notes from the Owner;
We absolutely love living on Maxted Park - indeed, if we didn′t need to be closer to family, we′d certainly be staying put. The location can′t be bettered, with easy walks both to the medieval high street (and the Castle Pub!) and the shops/station (literally two minutes away via an alleyway shortcut). There′s a proper community atmosphere here. And best of all is the peace and quiet. Despite being so close to everything - just 15 minutes into Marylebone or Baker St - the position is very secluded, with the wooded Grove right next door (accessed directly through a private gate). We can hear woodpeckers during the day and owls at night - we even once saw a partridge perching on our fence! We′ve worked hard to make the house a lovely place to be, and significantly extended it when we first moved in. Our aim was to create a really light and airy space, and a sense of continuity between the outdoors and the indoors. The garden is both very private and a real sun trap, while features like the log burner make things cosy in the winter. Who would this house suit? Well, we like to think the privacy, open-plan living and garden would suit many different types: busy families, young professionals or retirees. We′re confident they′d be as happy here as we have been.
