The Barge, Waveney River, Beccles

Currently moored on The River Waveney, originally built as a Humber Keel barge in around 1912, Manoah is a historic barge that has been thoughtfully converted into a comfortable floating home. Her transformation was featured in the George Clarke Amazing Spaces television programme.

With a beautifully light and airy interior, this boat must be seen to be fully appreciated. She is fully equipped with every convenience required for a life afloat.

From the bow there is a large self-draining fore deck. Here the fixed steel wheelhouse houses the galley/ dining area with built in solid beech cupboards and worktops and a butchers block with ample room for dining too.
Stairs lead down from the wheelhouse galley to the deck below into the generous, open plan saloon, living area. This area boasts a solid oak plank floor with under floor heating and a fire solid fuel stove. Along with 5 solid brass side opening portholes there is also a built-in skylight for the saloon allowing natural light into this space.
Located at the forward end of the barge are the two carpeted bedrooms. On this level you will also find the cabin bathroom, featuring a cast iron roll top bath, and the third bedroom with built in double bed and storage.

SERVICES
Water currently supplied from mains supply. Water is heated by gas fired combi boiler. Heating is provided by solid fuel stove and gas fired combi boiler which runs under floor heating. Electricity is via 240V supply from landline with RCD. Propane gas cylinders housed in the stern locker provider gas to cooker and boiler. (Durrants has not tested any apparatus, equipment, fittings or services and so cannot verify they are in working order.)

Please note prospective purchasers will need to arrange moorings. Vendors have advised the same mooring (at a farm just outside Beccles) maybe able to be maintained for mooring but this would need to be agreed via separate negotiations directly with the land owners - details of which can be provided upon request.
