Location

Ickford village is a small parish of 300 or so mixed properties and has approximately 550 electors. It is situated in the Aylesbury vale district of Buckinghamshire and is on the boundary with Oxfordshire, about 4 miles (6.4km) west of the market town of Thame. The River Thame forms both the southern boundary of the parish and Ickford's part of the county boundary with Oxfordshire. For the last 60 years this river boundary has been the location for the annual Tug o' War between Ickford and the local rivals of Tiddington (Oxon).
The village has a church, Saint Nicholas, which dates from the late 12th or early 13th century, a primary school, a village hall, and a pub The Rising Sun and still has a village shop. A playing field and allotments are provided by the Parish Council
