EXBOURNE
Exbourne and the prevailing lands are those that see the steady transition from softer, sheltered valleys, flushed with pockets of woodland to a more precipitous country – of moorland character, with open views glimpsed amid gorse hedges. The village offers much to potential residents, including easy access to Dartmoor. The Red Lion is a “true to roots” award winning Devon pub (CAMRA North Devon Pub of The Year 2014 & 2015). For those not of age ‘Exbourne C of E Primary School’ is highly regarded and part of the ‘Dartmoor Federation’, a collection of local schools commended by Ofsted. Exbourne is also environmentally aware, and has a unique underground, eco-friendly shop/post office. History buffs are catered for too, with a beautifully kept church – the ‘St Mary Blessed Virgin’. If the car gets a cold, panic ye not, the village has a local garage and car workshop (RB Tyres).

For access to the A30 dual carriageway and a larger spread of facilities, the town of Okehampton is a comfortable 5-mile journey south.
