4 bedroom property for sale

Guide price £540,000

Properties like this are rare to the market - a 4 bedroom detached bungalow in a village setting with 4 acres of attached gardens, paddocks and woodland, stables, chicken run, large garden plus ample parking and a double garage.

Furze Park offers a fantastic chance to enjoy a slice of Mid-Devon with a rural feel yet in a village setting. Often properties with land are a little more remote than this and it’s likely to appeal to a range of buyers. The bungalow is of a generous size and is complete with large gardens, paddocks and woodland extending to a little over 4 acres. Its position in the village, although central, is private and easy to access the village amenities including the primary school, pub and railway line with access to Exeter.

Internally, the current owners have improved the property during their tenure and added a wonderful light extension and two sets of bi-fold doors to the open plan living area with a wood burning stove. The focus of the room is overlooking the garden to the rear and works well. The property was also completely re-roofed. The kitchen/breakfast room is a good size with plenty of worktop and storage space and is ideal for those with families or pets as again it overlooks the gardens. There are 4 bedrooms, a family bathroom and additional WC! It is completely double glazed and has oil fired central heating.

Outside the property is approached on a drive with a pretty front garden setting it back from the village road. A 5 bar gate gives access to further parking and a recently built double garage with a remote electric door. The gardens are large and very gently undulating giving an interesting feel and plenty of established trees and shrubs can be found throughout. Immediately to the rear of the property is a secluded deck with a hot tub (available by separate negotiation). As expected, there is plenty of space for vegetable patches, greenhouses and sheds and a lovely chicken/duck run is currently used by the owners. There are two paddocks plus stables and tack room making it ideal for those with ponies, the paddocks can be seen from the property. To the south of the plot is a beautiful area of woodland with pathways and an abundance of flora and fauna to enjoy.

In summary, Furze Park is a pretty unique proposition being a good sized family bungalow with large gardens, paddocks, stables and woodland in a village setting.

DIRECTIONS : From Crediton High Street, proceed west (towards Copplestone) and at The Green, bear left at the traffic lights. Continue for approximately 3 miles until you reach the village of Yeoford. Go over the railway bridge and bear left into Station Road, Furze Park will be found on the left just before the church.

YEOFORD is a popular village with a lovely community feel, in a gentle valley, 4 miles from the market town of Crediton.  Yeoford is a busy place with yearly festivals, including ‘Yeofest’ – described by some as the “best little beer festival in Mid Devon”. In addition, and for those that prefer apples there is ‘Yeocider’.  The modern community hall hosts yoga, life drawing and crafting classes and the newly refurbished pub which serves great food is also home to the community shop.  The village hall also runs a handy Post Office.  The village is a great place for families with a recently renewed playground, the church which runs coffee mornings and a ‘Messy Church’ plus a group for the under 5s called Sweet Peas.  One of the village residents runs a garden centre from their property.  There are lots of great countryside walks too.
